About Christina A Pacillo

Christina A Pacillo A Lifelong resident of Michigan, I love the beautiful serene countryside that is Michigan and the large bodies of water we call the Great Lakes.I find inspiration in nature, and love to take walks both in the country and downtown. I have been interested in art for as long as I can remember. I am a graduate of Kellogg Community College with Associate degrees in Art and General Education. I have made art and learning my lifelong passion. I try to learn something new everyday.I love art history, architecture and automobiles..In May of 2008, I started my own studio,"Endless Possibilities Studio"; a place where I could let my imagination soar beyond the boundaries of the classroom. At present, the studio is in my home because in July of 2009 I underwent open heart surgery to replace the aortic valve in my heart. I am thankful for every day that I am here and continue to create and learn daily. My artistic creations come in many forms and mediums.Over the years I have done works in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, watercolors and acrylics and pastels. My college years were spend mostly in the area of sculpture and ceramics, both throwing on the potters wheel and hand building pottery and some art welding.
About 40 years ago I started collecting egg sculptures made of all kinds of media; porcelain, jade, marble, hand blown glass, paper, wood, leaded glass crystal and many others. This love of egg sculptures was the reason that more than Twenty-five years ago I started carving eggshells with a high speed dental drill. I spend hours and sometimes days sketching and drawing designs on the eggshells and then painstakingly carve those design with a high speed drill. When the design is just so,I clean the shell with a solution of hot water and bleach and the shell is then finished with color or clear acrylic sealing agent to seal and preserve the eggshell. The egg shell is then sometimes mounted on a stand and sealed in a glass dome for display.
When I was around twelve or so, my dad brought home a box of camera equipment and my love of photography was born. Since that time I have taken thousands of photographs using all kinds of cameras. Today, I have several digital cameras but most of the time I use the Cannon Rebel xti and a Samsung pocket digital.
For the past seven years I have been creating one of a kind pieces of jewelry with Pearls, precious and semi-precious gemstone beads and silver findings. I spend hours tying pearls into necklaces and bracelets. I also weave baskets, knit, crochet, sew and love to cook.
